John Bencher has worked collaboratively with Augis Gedgaudas since 1996, and in 2002 joined AGA architects as partner. He has fifteen years of experience in the design of unique buildings, interiors and parking facilities for office, commercial and industrial clients including several built-to-suit production/post-production facilities for movie and television companies, and creative spaces for website and internet design companies and other clients in the entertainment industry.

John's participation and experience extends through all phases of a project's design, development, production and construction. This includes working closely with clients during the design phase of the project and extends into the development, construction documentation, bidding and construction administration phases of each project. John has significant experience working on-site with general and subcontractors to ensure the execution of each project's vision and performance. This experience directly with the construction process and builders has provided him with the unique ability to develop solutions during construction that address issues of feasibility and cost while maintaining the integrity of the design.

John has the ability to operate in both the world of design and the world of technical development and execution, and to translate between and blend these activities to develop creative solutions to technical problems and to assure the realization of each client's unique vision.

John's design sensibilities come from Modernism, and he seeks to maintain his architectural interests by participating in the academic environment and is currently an adjunct professor at the Southern California Institute of Architecture teaching classes in design, theory, design development, and construction documentation and process. John has also been a design studio critic in the architecture departments at Woodbury University in Burbank, California and the Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles, California.
